This position is currently 23 hours/week. Effective January 1, 2018 the position will increase to 27 hours/week.

This is a summary of the position duties:

Under the supervision and direction of the Senior Center Manager, the Health Promotion Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development of program outreach materials, recruiting of program participants and volunteer Program Leaders for evidence based health programs offered by the ADRC, Leader training, securing training facilities and equipment, class scheduling and preparation, organization of class materials, assisting with data collection and development of program protocols as appropriate, and working with other ADRC staff, coalition members, community and health care partners, volunteer Program Leaders and researchers to disseminate evidence-based programs throughout the county.

 

Responsibilities include working throughout the county with municipalities, businesses, service providers, etc. to secure locations for training, recruit new volunteers, identify leaders and get them trained, volunteer management, recruit program participants, linking participants with aging and disability services, marketing of program and classes, outreach to participants and volunteers, assisting with grant writing, fiscal oversight of health program budget(s), and management of prevention/health programs. This position requires a high degree of autonomy and professionalism in representing the Aging and Disability Resource Center in the community.

These are the skills we need:

Associate degree in human services, health sciences, marketing, communication or related field.

At least two years of program management experience required.

Volunteer management experience preferred.

Minimum of one year of experience working with seniors and/or adults with disabilities in a paid or volunteer capacity required.

Familiarity with program development and outreach preferred.

Experience in fall prevention, chronic disease management, and health programs preferred.

Leader Certification with evidence based programs helpful.
