This position provides general accounting and office duties for the Highway Department. This position prepares Highway Department invoices bi-weekly along with maintaining information regarding the Highway Department’s fixed assets. This position also provides support for bi-weekly payroll processing, on-going support for monthly general billing and accounts receivable functions, general accounting functions, and acts as the receptionist for the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Two year associate degree in accounting or a related field preferred

Four years’ experience in accounting (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, etc.) preferred, preferably in a government setting

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal and financial background check
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for business related travel
