Description
The primary responsibility of the 4-H Summer Assistant is to assist the 4-H Youth Development Agent in coordinating and teaching summer youth programs and to work closely with the Portage County UW-Extension staff involved with summer 4-H and youth activities.
This individual will work under the direct guidance of the 4-H Youth Development Agent and will be responsible to the Portage County Ag and Extension Education Committee.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Additional post High School education in the field of Education and/or youth related studies preferred
- Evidence of successful leadership experience in 4-H, school and/or community organizations
- Organizational, leadership, and oral/written communication skills
- Appropriate experience working with people
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle
- Able to schedule evening and weekend work as needed
- Must successfully complete Youth Protection Training and certification upon hire
