Description of Duties:
The primary responsibility of the Summer Horticulture Assistant is to assist the full-time Agriculture Agent in disseminating technical information in horticulture by diagnosing home horticulture problems from samples brought to the office or by direct telephone contact.
 
This individual will be responsible to the Department Head of the county staff and through him/her to the Agriculture and Extension Education Committee.  This individual will work under the direct guidance of the County Agriculture Agent.
Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Training and experience in horticulture or agriculture
• Training/experience working in a greenhouse, nursery or landscaping
• Master Gardener Certification preferred
• Appropriate experience in working with people
• Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
