This is a brief description of the job duties:

This position provides nutrition assessment, education and programming for clients, community groups and health professionals as well as routine maintenance of Women Infants and Children (WIC) and Fit Families programs. Responsibilities include outreach and enrollment of WIC & Fit families programs, coaching and monitoring progress on behavior goals, and documentation of program data.

 

The Dietitian carries out the clinical functions of the Portage County Health Care Center (PCHCC) dietary services. Including, completing nutritional assessments and related activities with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process.

 

This position will work 20 hours per week with WIC & Nutrition Services & 20 hours per week with PCHCC.

These are the skills we need:

Graduate from accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition or dietetics required.

Registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration and certified with the State of Wisconsin – Department of Regulation & License (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Dietitian) required or Registered Dietitian Eligible with a Temporary Certified Dietitian status with the State of Wisconsin – Department of Regulation & Licensing and the ability to pass the Registered Dietitian Exam within 6 months of hire.

Proven ability to organize/facilitate groups.

Proven ability to plan and complete projects.

One year of nutrition experience in WIC, public health nutrition, health coaching or work with families and young children preferred.

Experience working in programs with services for older adults preferred.

Experience as a dietitian in a skilled medical facility and knowledge of the MDS process preferred.

Bilingual communication preferred-Spanish or Hmong.
