Description
Portage County Health & Human Services is hiring a full-time Mental Health Clinician to join the team! This position provides psychodiagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to mental health and/or AODA clients within the Portage County Certified Mental Health Clinic and Intensive In-Home Program.

What are the primary job duties?
Provides Direct Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services to Mental Health and/or AODA Clinic Clients.
- Interviews and develops clinical assessment of problem areas of mental health and/or AODA clients.
- Formulates a DSM Diagnosis of client.
- Develops therapeutic goals and treatment plan with appropriate review.
- Provides appropriate therapeutic treatment modality through individual, group, family, or specialized treatment services.
- Provides crisis intervention services to referred clients or on the telephone.
- Makes available 32 hours a week for client contact.
Provides Case Management Services for Mental Health and/or AODA Clients.
- Prepares and presents cases and participates in clinical staff meetings.
- Obtains confidential background and historical psycho social information from agencies and institutions having relevant knowledge of the client.
- Refers clients to other agencies or institutions providing relevant primary or auxiliary health, education, vocational, rehabilitative, or social services.
- Completes forms and necessary evaluative reports in a timely fashion and maintains confidential client treatment records in proper order.
- Completes all logs and paperwork in a timely manner.
Provides Consultation Services for Agencies, Institutions, Professional, and Community Groups.
- Serves as primary consultant on a formal on-going basis with appropriate colleagues, agencies, and institutions regarding case management, treatment planning, direct service and programming of specific clients.
What are the minimum qualifications?
- Graduation from an accredited university program with a Clinical Master's degree in Social Work or related field required.
- 3,000 hours of supervised experience in a similar clinic setting required.
- Certification or eligibility for State certification as a Master's Degree Clinical Practitioner required.
- Substance Abuse Counselor Certification or eligibility preferred.
