Do you have the desire to work in law enforcement? Portage County is establishing a list for Corrections Officers where candidates would be hired as vacancies occur. This may be your chance to work in the Portage County jail serving inmates and the public.

Test with Portage County using the Wisconsin Personnel Partners test- candidates will be invited to this test which will be scheduled for May 5, 2018.

This is a brief description of the job duties:

Maintain security and general operation of the jail as well as transporting prisoners to and from correctional facilities, courts and medical/dental facilities.

These are the skills we are seeking:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate Degree in Criminal Justice preferred.

Completion of basic jailer school or grandfathered by Wisconsin Training and Standards board preferred.

Prior corrections experience preferred.
