Description
Do you enjoy being outdoors and are knowledgeable about gun and shooting range safety? Portage County Parks has a part-time, seasonal Rangemaster opening! Hours will range between 8-40 hrs / wk (see range schedule below.)
This position will start approximately at the end of June and go through mid November, 2026.
Starting pay $18.03 / hr.
What will you be doing?
- Registration of shooters at the Dewey shooting range
- Collection of user fees
- Provide assistance to shooters
- Ensures range areas are safe and range users are following proper safety procedures
- General maintenance of the area
What kind of knowledge and skills do you need to have?
- Ability to deal effectively with the public
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of County park ordinances
- Knowledge of guns, ballistics and gun safety
What are the qualifications?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Range Schedule:
May 2nd - July 26: Saturday and Sunday, 1 - 5 pm
August 1st - Oct 15th: Saturday and Sunday 1-5 pm, Tuesday 2-6 pm, Thursday 2 - 6 pm
October 17th - October 30th: Everyday 10 am - 4 pm
October 31st – November 20th: Everyday 10 am - 6 pm
November 21st - April 30th: CLOSED
